Pharmacy Manager Essential Job Duties:

  • Oversee the daily staffing needs of Union Hospital Regional Pharmacy for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians including scheduling, payroll, maintain licenses, hiring, evaluations, and discipline.
  • Ensures adherence to state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists with policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies such as IN Board of Pharmacy, IN DOH, CMS, and ACHC.
  • Collaborates with Pharmacy Informatics to oversee the daily usage of technology including electronic health record, automated dispensing machines, IV room workflow dispensing technology.  Assists with training and education of technology as needed.
  • Assists with the development of departmental goals and performance improvement initiatives at UHR.
  • Collaborates with nursing, providers, administration, and other departments to optimize patient care and medication management.
  • Reviews and oversees narcotic diversion surveillance.
  • Completes special projects at the request of System Pharmacy Director and System Pharmacy Managers as assigned or requested.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. (preferred)
  • Masters degree (MHA, MBA, MPH) preferred
  • Licensed pharmacist in the State of Indiana
  • 3-5 years of hospital experience preferred
  • Excellent grasp of standard written and verbal English
  • Flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department
