Job description

 

Primary job duties are investigation, surveillance, and analysis of hospital informatics to support the Infection Prevention Department. Specific duties include: reviewing and communicating pertinent laboratory results, reporting communicable diseases to the Department of Health, outbreak and exposure investigations, surveillance for hospital acquired infections.

Must have a BS (preferred MS) in preventative medicine, public health, laboratory science, or nursing with emphasis in epidemiology.

Certification in Infection Control or commitment to attain within 3 years of employment.

Minimum of two years in the area of public health or hospital experience. Experience in computer skills, PC word processing, data bases, tables, and graphics software. Knowledge and experience in statistical analysis, with proficiency in database and statistical software.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent people skills and the ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively. Must be available to work flexible hours, assuming on-call duties on evenings or weekends and other times when deemed necessary. Must be available to respond within a reasonable length of time.
