Job description

Under administrative supervision, the Administrative Fellow participates in a structured rotation through executive leadership and various hospital departments-both clinical and non-clinical-to gain comprehensive knowledge of Tampa General Hospital's operations. The fellowship includes active involvement in organization-wide projects, policy analysis, and short-term leadership assignments. Fellows are expected to follow guidance from their preceptor, develop supervisory and management skills, and contribute to initiatives that align with the hospital's mission, vision, and values. This role serves as a foundation for future healthcare leadership, emphasizing ethical conduct, social responsibility, and organizational excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in rotations through executive leadership and hospital departments to gain operational knowledge.

  • Assist in the analysis and development of organizational policies and procedures.

  • Contribute to organization-wide projects, including planning and implementation phases.

  • Assume leadership roles on short-term projects as assigned by the preceptor.

  • Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational and personnel information.

  • Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, appearance, and communication.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

  • Utilize resources effectively and efficiently to support project outcomes.

  • Promote Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values through ethical decision-making and positive representation.

Education:

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Public Health or Related Field. 

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Healthcare Systems Knowledge - Understanding of hospital operations, healthcare delivery models, and regulatory requirements.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to analyze policy issues, interpret data, and develop solutions for organizational challenges.

  • Leadership and Supervisory Skills - Capacity to assume leadership roles in projects and develop management competencies.
