Job description

Are You a Vigilant and Dependable Professional Who Values Safety and Community?

We are seeking a Security Guard to help protect the students, staff, and visitors across our agency locations.

As a Security Guard, you’ll play a key role in fostering a safe, secure and welcoming environment for those we serve—from young children to staff and to community members of all ages. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of students, staff, and visitors throughout the facility
  • Monitor security cameras and patrol agency buildings and grounds
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly fire drills, lockdowns, and other emergency procedures
  • Control building access and verify credentials of visitors
  • Respond to emergencies and work with local law enforcement and emergency personnel
  • Prepare and maintain logs, incident reports, and visitor records
  • Assist with elevator inspections, package delivery, and general support
  • Participate in agency initiatives, events, and trainings as assigned
  • Availability for evening, weekend and on-call assignments 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid NJ Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) License 
  • Basic computer skills to allow access to email and be able to maintain communication within the agency.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and building security procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
