Job description

Are You a Passionate About Early Childhood Education?
Join HOPES CAP, Inc. as a Substitute Pre-K Teacher and help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young learners on an as-needed basis!
As a Substitute Pre-K Teacher, you will step in to lead and support classrooms, ensuring children receive high-quality learning experiences. This on-call (per diem) position offers the opportunity to step into the classroom as needed, providing valuable support to young learners and their educational development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  • Supervise and support children's learning, play, and social development
  • Conduct classroom routines, including meals, rest time, and transitions
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and staff to ensure smooth classroom operations

Qualifications:
  • State Certified Substitute Teaching Certification or a State Teaching Certification that meets or exceeds the requirements of a substitute teaching certification or a CE or CEAS issued by the NJ Dept of Education
  • Experience in a Pre-K setting or equivalent experience working with children and working with a team
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and routines
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to the mission of supporting children, families and communities
