Job description

Foster Parent – Hope House
Location: Rockford, IL | Housing Provided | Full-Time, Hybrid Live-In Role
Are you looking for more than just a job? Do you believe every teen deserves a safe, supportive, and loving home? At One Hope United, you can live out that belief—literally. As a Hybrid Live-In Foster Parent at Hope House, you’ll provide care, structure, and encouragement to up to four fantastic youth (ages 13–17) in a family-style home that we provide for you.
This isn’t your typical 9–5. It’s a chance to create a lasting impact with all expenses covered in a comfortable, fully furnished home. You’ll receive extensive training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to build genuine relationships with young people who need consistency, compassion, and guidance the most.
What You’ll Do
Live in a private, fully furnished all expenses paid home provided by One Hope United
• Serve as a positive, stable role model and caregiver for up to 4 youth
• Create a nurturing, family-style environment using our trauma-informed Trust Based Relational Intervention Model (we train you!) Maintains a therapeutic home environment. Interactions with all youth reflect a strengths-based, trauma informed approach
• Support youth with life skills, school attendance, daily routines, and recreational activities
• Establish and sustain positive relationships with youth biological parents, social workers, counselors, child
psychologists, teachers, mentors, and any members of the treatment team. The ability to successfully engage and
interact with a diverse demographic is essential.
• Help youth set and achieve goals for education, behavior, and emotional well-being
• Take youth to school, appointments, and activities using an agency vehicle
• Take youth on outings to sports events, amusement parks, museums, and festivals (with approval from leadership)
• Keep accurate records and documentation—because good care includes great communication!
• Work collaboratively with a treatment team to provide quality services with the objective to exceed expected
outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and professional development (we invest in you, too!)

What We’re Looking For
Experience working with youth (3+ years required)
High school diploma/GED
Foster Parents must agree to comply with all state licensing requirements and consent to being listed on the home license.
• A calm, confident presence—especially in stressful or emotional situations
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds in a respectful, equitable way
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
• A heart for service and a home you’re willing to share (we provide the house, and you make it a home)
