Work Environment

This role is designed for remote work, which allows our Mental Health Therapists the flexibility to connect with patients from the convenience of their home or office. Despite the remote setting, our clinic fosters a collaborative atmosphere where therapists can engage with peers and participate in team discussions to share insights, strategies, and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, focusing on their unique needs, strengths, and personal goals.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that encompass evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s circumstances.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions utilizing approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate personal growth and recovery.
  • Lead group therapy sessions aimed at fostering community support and shared learning among individuals in recovery.
  • Work in partnership with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care, ensuring all aspects of a patient’s health and wellbeing are addressed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during substance-related emergencies, showcasing your expertise in high-pressure situations.
  • Offer educational resources and support to patients and their families regarding addiction, recovery techniques, and available community resources.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with regulatory and compliance standards to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Actively engage in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest advancements in addiction treatment.
  • Implement and track outcomes of treatment strategies to drive continuous improvement within the department.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, who may also face co-occurring mental health challenges. Our diverse patient population includes various age groups and backgrounds, all seeking effective treatment and recovery solutions. Your role is essential in providing empathetic, individualized care, and empowering clients through their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Must possess current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York State.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery-oriented care, along with experience in delivering therapeutic services.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to therapy and patient engagement.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow ethical guidelines diligently.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with relevant software applications for clinical documentation.
  • A strong commitment to collaborative practices, working effectively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 – 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, a sign-on bonus is available to support your transition into our team.
