Job description

Salary:

We are seeking a PHLEBOTOMIST ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT to become a part of our team! You will be primarily responsible for administrative duties for primary care services and assist with phlebotomy duties as needed.


Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but is not limited to the following:

Administrative duties

  • Perform all front-end administrative duties to best meet the needs of the patients.
  • Ensure all patient demographic and financial information is accurate and current in patients record.
  • Responsible for answering all inbound patient calls and route them appropriately.
  • Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborates with team to check-in patients for appointments, schedule follow-up appointments, and process referrals.
  • Assist to verify client Medicare/Medicaid/Private Insurance eligibility and documents within the patients records.
  • Collect patient co-pays for services.
  • Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available.


Clinical Duties

  • Performing venipuncture (blood draws) on patients of all ages.
  • Collecting and preparing non-blood specimens.
  • Ensuring proper labeling, handling, and processing of all lab samples.
  • Maintaining sterile environments and managing lab inventory supplies.
  • Taking and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Assist providers with basic procedures, injections, and other clinical tasks.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year paid work experience working in the medical field
  • Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness


Working Conditions

  • The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
  • Open to 1 to 2 Saturday (8a-12n) clinic rotations per month
