Job description

At Bella Care Hospice we are passionate about honoring the lives of our patients and seek to make special moments for them and their families. We are looking for volunteers to help with our Celebrate Life program. Celebrate Life is a nonprofit foundation that uses hospice donation funds to honor our patients with the things and people they love.

Some Celebrate Life activities include: celebrating patients’ birthdays and anniversaries, organizing family reunions, arranging transportation to special events like weddings or concerts or sports games, preparing a special meal to share with loved ones, buying items to improve a patients’ living space like a tv or bird feeder or special décor, buying items for a favorite hobby like knitting or painting supplies, honoring veterans with an honor flight or pinning ceremony, arranging a trip to a special spot like the zoo or a museum, and more!

Celebrate Life volunteers would work with our Volunteer Coordinator and the Interdisciplinary Team to brainstorm ideas to honor specific patients and participate in the planning process. Volunteers will serve in an administrative role by writing cards, buying supplies, calling organizations to arrange events, etc. Celebrate Life volunteers can optionally be trained as Companionship Volunteers in order to visit patients during their Celebrate Life events.

Hospice is about helping patients live out their final days to their fullest, surrounded by the persons and things which they hold dear. Help us to celebrate the lives our patients!
