Job Purpose
  • Lead Honda's global Firewall Management team responsible for securing enterprise IT, manufacturing OT, connected products, and partner ecosystems.
  • Coordinate the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of firewall services, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with global technology teams to develop secure network architectures, manage firewall policies, monitor security threats, and maintain service availability.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and operational oversight while driving best practices, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across Honda’s global firewall environment.
Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and develop the global firewall management team through coaching, performance management, training, and workload prioritization.
  • Define, implement, and enforce firewall standards, policies, and governance aligned with Honda cybersecurity requirements.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams to design and deploy secure network architectures.
  • Oversee firewall operations, performance monitoring, maintenance, and optimization to ensure security, reliability, and availability.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution of firewall and network security issues.
  • Manage escalations, vendor relationships, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while meeting established service levels.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum experience: At least 8 or more years in network security or infrastructure operations, including 2+ years leading technical teams.
  • Other job specific skills:
    • Expertise in firewall technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
    • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, SSL, IPSec, IDS/IPS, and network security principles.
    • Experience in incident response, risk management, and security operations.
    • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and cloud security (e.g. - Azure / AWS).
    • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
Workstyle
  • This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
