JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Homemaker maintains the primary responsibility of completing daily tasks for our elderly population to create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in their place of residence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative

1. Timely and accurate completion of visit/time record documentation and verification of service forms.

2. Adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) privacy policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families, and employees.

3. Maintain positive working relationships with clients, client families, I MEAN EVERYTHING (I.M.E.) staff, community providers and referral sources.

4. Always maintain a professional appearance.

5. Participate in all in-service and education programs required by the agency.

Services and Procedures

1. Provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment or residence for clients.

2. Promote a harmonious, pleasant, and attractive environment.

3. Light housekeeping includes but is not limited to: wiping surfaces, Light Dusting, Vacuuming, Sweeping, mopping in areas utilized or frequented by the client.

4. Clean bedrooms, living rooms and other common spaces utilized directly by the client.

5. Washing dishes used by the client.

6. Meal Preparation.

7. Running Errands that might include the post-office, meal pick-ups, grocery shopping, bill payments and other essential needs that may be a taxing effort for the client to perform independently.

8 Provide laundry and linen services to include washing, ironing, and folding clothes.

9. Make bed or change bed linens.

Education and Experience

1. Eighteen (18) years of age with High School Diploma/GED Equivalency

2.Be able to provide covered Homemaker services according to the person's Homemaker Service plan.

3. Meets the training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws.

4. Must be able to read and write in English language, Mathematical & Reasoning Skills Excellent customer service and listening skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with the client & PSA Provider Agency. Ability to compute basic mathematics.

5. Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.

6. Ability to handle multiple tasks.

7. Able to provide covered PSA services according to the client's service plan, respond appropriately to the client's needs and reports changes in the client's condition.

8. Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.

9. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

10. Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.

11. Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.

12. Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.

Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, reasonable accommodations will be considered.

1. Occasional use of hands, wrists and fingers and lifting or moving up to 75 lbs. may be required.

2. Movements such stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching are occasionally required.

3. This position requires spending much of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting.

4. Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate.

5. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.

6. Access to a working telephone for regular communication with Agency Manager, client, responsible party, Home Care / Staffing Coordinator.

Compensation : Pay is Bi-weekly and is Negotiable based upon experience and skills. Pay is competitive with other non medical home care companies, and we offer bonuses and other compensation incentives for our employees!
