Job description

Job Title: Data Analyst

Reporting to: Director of Community Engagement

Status: Full-time; Exempt

About The Partnership To End Homelessness

The Partnership's upstream intervention model combines housing, rental assistance and crisis services with mental health, support and education programming to prevent people from losing their homes. Our services are available to New Yorkers of any ability, age, family type, gender, national origin, race and sexualย  orientation who are at risk of, experiencing or recovering from homelessness.

Position Overviewย 

Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Data Analyst is responsible for managing data systems, analysis and reporting to advance the mission of preventing homelessness and achieving equitable outcomes. This role oversees data collection, integrity, analysis and continuous improvement to support program delivery, compliance and organizational effectiveness. A strategic and analytical thinker, the Data Analyst brings expertise in data-informed decision-making, system optimization and translating client and program data into actionable insights. The position plays a central role in partnering with program, finance and development teams, maintaining strong relationships with government agencies and external partners and ensuring high-quality reporting that supports funding, evaluation and community building efforts.

Responsibilities

ย  Promote a client-first, data-informed culture aligned with the organization's mission to prevent homelessness and advance equitable outcomes and impact.

ย  Lead the management, integrity and continuous improvement of internal databases and external data platforms including HMIS systems, Census analysis tools, Housing Vacancy Survey data and NYC OpenData, to support program delivery, compliance, reporting and staff efficiency.

ย  Oversee data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure accurate and timely information for funders, leadership and program teams.

ย  Interpret quantitative and qualitative data and create clear charts, graphics and data visualizations to communicate trends, outcomes and impact.

ย  Translate program and client data into insights that support development, evaluation and data-driven community building efforts.

ย  Serve as the organization's data systems subject matter expert, advising leadership on risks, opportunities and best practices related to data use and system performance.

ย  Collaborate with finance, development and program teams to support funding procurement, grant reporting and contractual deliverables.

ย  Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, vendors and external partners related to data systems and reporting.

ย  Develop documentation, training materials and workflows; train and support staff to ensure consistent and accurate data practices that reflect the realities of serving households in crisis.

ย  Ensure excellent database management and analytics, maintain data integrity, meet all program contractual and reporting requirements and prepare weekly, quarterly and annual reports focused on prevention impact and outcomes.

ย  Other duties as assigned.

Skills and qualifications

ย  Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree a plus;

ย  Experience in data systems, analytics or information management;

ย  Strong knowledge of data systems supporting housing, homelessness prevention, human services or related social impact fields, with a demonstrated commitment to equity and client-centered practice;

ย  Demonstrated experience leading data strategy, system implementation and continuous improvement in complex, fast-paced environments;

ย  Experience overseeing data collection, validation, compliance and reporting for government contracts, grants and funders;

ย  Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with program, finance and development teams to support funding, evaluation and organizational effectiveness;

ย  Advanced comfort with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate technical information into clear insights for diverse audiences;

ย  Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and experience working effectively with diverse teams and communities;

ย  Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholder needs in a complex organizational environment;

ย  Interest and aptitude for building, refining and documenting systems, workflows and best practices from the ground up;

ย  Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred;

ย  Proficiency with MS Office, internal databases, HMIS systems, Census Analysis, Housing Vacancy Survey and NYC OpenData;

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment with a low toย  moderate noise level; routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras,ย  photocopiers/scanners and filing cabinets; is required to travel to external meetings, and be able to workย  evenings and weekends, as needed; and, frequently focus for long periods of time.ย 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredย  to stand, walk and sit; maintain a stationary position for long periods of time; use hands and fingers toย  operate objects, tools or controls such as phones, computers and office equipment and accessories; reachย  with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear and exchange accurateย  information via in-person, electronic, telephonic, virtual and written communications. The employee must beย  able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,ย  distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Benefits

Compensation for this full-time, exempt role includes: $80K salary; generous PTO and benefits, including employer coverage of 100% of employee health insurance premiums (medical, dental, vision); disability; life insurance; transit; and 401K with employer contribution. A seasonal 4-day work week, based in NYC office. ย
