Duties

As an Armed Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of stakeholders and the facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Enforcing access control measures to permit entry only to authorized individuals, packages, and vehicles
  • Operating walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, as well as x-ray machines, to screen individuals and items
  • Conducting thorough vehicle inspections
  • Identifying and addressing security threats according to established protocols
  • Preventing, detecting, and apprehending individuals attempting unauthorized access or violating laws
  • Executing emergency closure procedures and providing security assistance during crises
  • Conducting roving guard services and perimeter/interior patrols to identify security breaches and unsafe conditions
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to facility employees and visitors
  • Operating in the Security Operations Center (SOC) as the central command, control and communication hub for the facility.
  • Monitoring and operating various security systems, including intrusion detection, surveillance, and access control systems
  • Assist with Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card enrollment, issuance, and programming.
  • Performing emergency responses, including CPR, AED, and first aid, as needed
  • Maintaining accurate reports, records, and logs
  • Willingness to work evenings, overnights, and weekends as required
  • Utilizing weapons when necessary, following established guidelines.
Requirements:

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of armed security experience within the past five years OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience in full-duty status with a full-service police department within the US, with a good standing resignation or retirement OR
  • Minimum of 2 years of honorable service as a member of any US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve service.




Education

  • High school diploma or GED.




Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years
  • US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Military
  • Must be able to obtain the applicable background clearance
  • Must possess valid NCPPSB license
  • Proficiency with firearms
  • Ability to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify system
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English
  • Possession of a current State-issued Driver’s License
  • Ability to handle common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented and safety-conscious
  • High level of ethics and integrity



Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of Medical/Physical examination and Drug testing with favorable results
  • Successful completion of New Hire Academy training
  • Successful passing of firearms qualifications.
