Job description

Role Description The Home Care Agency Administration Intern — Medicaid Operations is an on-site internship role based in Philadelphia, PA. The intern will support the administration of a Medicaid-focused home care agency, including assisting with client intake processes, eligibility verification, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with Medicaid regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities may include coordinating schedules, tracking service delivery, helping prepare reports, and communicating with caregivers, clients, and supervisory staff to ensure smooth operations. The intern will help monitor compliance with agency policies and state requirements, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with the team on operational projects. This role is designed to provide exposure to healthcare services administration, Medicaid program operations, and home care agency workflows.
Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in Home Care and Personal Care services, with an understanding of basic support needs for individuals receiving care.

  • Strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with clients, caregivers, and internal teams.

  • Background or interest in Caregiving and Elder Care, with sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage documentation in a regulated environment.

  • Interest in Medicaid or healthcare administration, compliance, or healthcare operations; prior exposure is a plus.

  • Ability to work on-site in Philadelphia, PA, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email) and willingness to learn agency-specific systems.

  • Current student or recent graduate in a relevant field such as healthcare administration, public health, social work, business, or a related discipline preferred.
