Job description

Radiation Therapist

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for accurately delivering prescribed courses of radiation therapy to cancer patients, ensuring clinical precision and patient comfort. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW.

Every day you will meticulously position patients, operate sophisticated radiation equipment, perform daily quality assurance checks, and carefully monitor patients throughout treatment, providing support and clear communication.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, crucial for safe and effective cancer treatment.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited school of radiation therapy
  • Registered in Radiation Therapy by the ARRT and licensed as a Radiation Therapist by the California Department of Public Health. Must obtain and show proof of License as a Radiation Therapist by the California Department of Public Health Radiologic Health Branch prior to start date if offer is extended
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Current knowledge of appropriate clinical practices radiation protection and quality assurance patient management and care charges basic dosimetry and equipment

Preferred

  • Two (2) years recent radiation therapy experience preferred
  • Experience using ARIA or IMPAC Varian and CT simulation equipment preferred
  • HDR brachytherapy experience preferred
