Job description

Tutor Doctor North Jersey has been proudly serving students and families in the Ridgewood area and surrounding communities for over 15 years. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable STEM tutor to join our experienced team in the Ridgewood area. In this role you will work one-on-one with students in their homes, providing personalized support in math and science subjects across a range of grade levels.
What You'll Do
  • Provide personalized one-on-one in-home tutoring sessions to students in the Ridgewood, NJ area and surrounding communities
  • Support students across a range of STEM subjects including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Tailor each session to the student's individual learning style, pace, and academic goals
  • Support students with executive functioning skills such as study habits, time management, and organization alongside academic content
  • Submit a brief session report after each session to track progress and keep families informed
  • Maintain a consistent weekly schedule and communicate proactively with our coordination team
  • Build a positive, encouraging, and trust-based relationship with your student and their family

What We're Looking For
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more STEM areas
  • Previous tutoring, teaching, or academic mentoring experience required
  • Degree in a STEM field or related area strongly preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to a consistent weekly schedule
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to connect with students of varying skill levels and learning styles
  • Comfortable working in a home environment and communicating professionally with parents
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to student homes in the Ridgewood area and surrounding communities
  • Must be able to pass a background check
