While traditionally positioned at crosswalks, 'home based' may refer to guards who coordinate schedules, report incidents, or monitor crossing locations remotely when not physically present. Their main duties include stopping traffic, helping children cross safely, and communicating with school authorities or law enforcement as needed. This role is essential for community safety and may involve both on-site and administrative tasks, depending on the school district's needs.
