Global Planning & Operations (Factory Planning)
The impact you'll make
The Global Production Planning Senior Manager leads the development and execution of global production planning strategies that align customer demand, business objectives, and operational capabilities across the Global Factory Network. This role is responsible for translating long-range demand signals into actionable production plans, optimizing factory network performance, mitigating supply and demand risks, and ensuring predictable delivery outcomes. Partnering closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Business Units, and Executive Leadership, the Senior Manager drives S&OP processes, capacity planning, recovery strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives while leading a high-performing team of global production planning professionals.
What you'll do
Global Production Planning Strategy & Execution
• Own the global production planning framework, ensuring alignment between customer demand, business priorities, factory capabilities, and operational objectives.
• Lead the creation and governance of global and site-specific production plans across a 0-18 month planning horizon.
• Establish quarterly production schedules and output targets that optimize customer responsiveness, lead times, factory utilization, and delivery performance.
• Drive factory network balancing and level-loading strategies to maximize capacity utilization and operational efficiency.
S&OP Leadership & Capacity Planning
• Lead the GOps Sizing and Quarterly Review (QxR) processes, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory strategies, and business objectives.
• Integrate capability and constraint inputs from Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Product Management into comprehensive planning recommendations.
• Develop scenario-based capacity plans and provide strategic recommendations to support business growth and changing market conditions.
• Drive proactive planning decisions that improve operational agility and readiness for non-linear customer demand patterns.
Risk Management & Recovery Planning
• Establish planning strategies that identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting delivery performance, factory output, and customer commitments.
• Lead business continuity and recovery planning efforts across the Global Factory Network.
• Develop contingency plans, recovery capacity models, and factory cross-qualification strategies to improve organizational resilience.
Factory Network Optimization
• Champion Global Factory Network strategies that improve flexibility, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Ensure production plans effectively leverage global manufacturing capabilities while maintaining level loading across factories.
• Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, throughput, and capacity utilization.
Inventory & Performance Management
• Provide executive oversight of Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) planning, projection, and disposition strategies.
• Establish inventory targets and drive actions that optimize inventory health while supporting customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor adherence to production plans and key operational performance metrics.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of production planning professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships across Global Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Product Management, and Executive Leadership.
• Deliver data-driven insights, planning recommendations, and business updates to senior leadership teams.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain planning, manufacturing operations, or related functions.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience managing professional planning teams.
  • Experience leading S&OP, capacity planning, demand/supply balancing, or integrated business planning processes.
  • Demonstrated success managing planning activities across complex global manufacturing environments

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, high-tech manufacturing, or complex build-to-order environments.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Experience managing global factory networks and cross-functional planning organizations.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
  • Proven ability to lead through organizational change and influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, or similar professional certifications.
