Order Entry Specialist (Licensed or Certified Pharmacy Technician)
Full-Time | $17-$21 per hour
Kalamazoo LTC Pharmacy | Kalamazoo, Michigan
Kalamazoo LTC Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented Order Entry Specialist who is a Licensed or Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely medication order processing to support the health and well-being of our long-term care patients.

Position Summary
The Order Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering new prescriptions, refills, and patient information into the pharmacy system. This position works closely with healthcare providers, facilities, and internal pharmacy staff to clarify orders, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately input prescription and refill orders into pharmacy software
  • Manage incoming orders and prioritize urgent requests
  • Communicate with providers, clinics, and healthcare staff to clarify prescription details
  • Contact provider offices for refill authorizations
  • Resolve order discrepancies, insurance issues, and billing questions
  • Maintain detailed documentation of orders and communications
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
  • Previous long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong data entry and 10-key skills
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
