Job description

Eligibility Coordinator

The Eligibility Coordinator plays a key role in supporting individuals and families by determining eligibility for community assistance programs and financial aid services. This on-site position in Fort Wayne, IN is responsible for processing utility assistance applications, conducting client intake, and ensuring accurate and timely application review. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working with data across multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process utility assistance applications submitted by mail and walk-in clients.
  • Accurately enter applicant information into both state and internal databases using dual-monitor systems.
  • Verify and document personal, household, income, and utility information to determine program eligibility.
  • Complete and maintain electronic client records and required internal documentation.
  • Contact applicants by phone to obtain missing information or clarify application details.
  • Prepare and send eligibility determinations and final notifications to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and community programs to ensure client needs are met effectively.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute feedback and process improvement ideas.

Pay and Benefits
