Call Center Associate - Per Diem Call Center Associates are responsible for handling patient room service orders. They answers patient calls and enter meal orders into the DFM computer system. This position needs to be familiar with all menu offerings, diet variations and specifics of what may be ordered by patients based on their physician prescribed diet. Assists Registered Dietitians in providing nutritional care and support. Department: Food and Nutrition Hours: Per Diem, 16 hours a week required Responsibilities Accepts orders for patient guest trays and collects payment. Administrates and prints reports per schedule. Answers room service calls and enters meal orders into the computer system. Assigns house diets to patients unable to participate in room service. Calculates and documents the calorie and protein consumption for patients on Nutrient Intake Studies. Completes diet histories and instructs patients and/or their families on dietary restrictions ordered by the physician. Coordinates call center processes with production. Assists with production as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Food/Drug Interactions including insulin, Phosphate Inhibitors, Allergens. Demonstrates knowledge of all menu offerings, diet variations and specifics of what may be ordered by patients based on their physician prescribed diet. Ensures that patient information and all meal counts are kept up to date. Enters patient preferences, patient allergies, patient requests for special dietary adjustments, etc, recording all information in the patient's medical record and the DFM cardex. Expedites meal service to the patients ensuring that specific diet modifications and individual preferences are honored. Maintains a friendly and cheerful demeanor at all times reflecting the culture of healing we promote. Visits patients indicated on the Missed Meal reports to determine reasons for missed meals and takes whatever action necessary to maximize patient satisfaction with Room Service missed meals.
