  • Incorporate hands-on learning, reading, play, exploration, and real-world experiences into the school day
  • Track academic progress and communicate regularly with the parents
  • Create age-appropriate activity plans for the family's 2.5-year-old and guide his nanny in implementing them
  • Maintain a calm, structured, yet flexible daily routine
  • Collaborate comfortably with parents and other household staff
  • Travel with the family up to 25%, including stays at their second residence
Qualifications
  • Prior professional homeschool or private in-home teaching experience is required
  • Previous experience independently managing a child's education within a private household
  • Elementary education background strongly preferred
  • Teaching certification, education degree, or comparable professional training preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized and one-on-one instruction
  • Comfortable working with an established homeschool curriculum and supplementing it as appropriate
  • Warm, patient, engaging, and nurturing
  • Organized and confident managing academic schedules, activities, and educational outings
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with parents and household staff
  • Flexible and comfortable traveling with the family
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a major plus
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to successfully complete background and reference checks
  • Seeking a long-term position with a private family
Please note: Candidates without previous professional homeschool/private in-home teaching experience will not be considered for this position.
