Job description

Title: Lead Electrical Engineer – Electrical Equipment Solutions
Company: Global Power Components – www.globalpowercomponents.com
Location: Milwaukee, WI (onsite 5-days/week)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Position Summary:
Global Power Components (GPC) is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the development, launch, and execution of electrical equipment solutions. This individual will serve as the lead engineering resource responsible for product development, application engineering, prototype development, manufacturing support, and technical customer support.
The ideal candidate has experience in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment and has worked with custom electrical equipment such as MCCs, switchgear, power distribution equipment, control systems, or similar engineered solutions. This position is expected to grow into a technical leadership role as the business expands.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop engineered electrical equipment solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Create electrical designs, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Support quotation and application engineering activities.
  • Lead prototype development and testing activities.
  • Work directly with manufacturing to support fabrication, assembly, and product launch activities.
  • Support product certification and compliance efforts.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners on technical matters.
  • Establish engineering standards, processes, and documentation practices.
  • Support development of product literature, technical content, and training materials.
  • Assist in building and scaling the engineering organization.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
    • Switchgear
    • Power Distribution Equipment
    • Industrial Control Systems
    • Custom Electrical Equipment
  • Experience with:
    • BOM development
    • Electrical drawings and one-lines
    • Manufacturing support
    • Customer-facing engineering activities
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting new product introductions or product launches.
  • Experience with electrical equipment standards and certification requirements.
  • CAD and electrical design software experience.
  • Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
