Home Based Contract Robotics Engineer Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Robotics Engineer will support automation projects for a leading systems integrator in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will develop, program, test, and commission industrial robotic systems across the full project lifecycle, from concept through startup. You will collaborate closely with controls and integration teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance automated manufacturing solutions. This contract opportunity is expected to run through December, with strong potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

• Program and configure industrial robots for automated manufacturing applications, including developing programs from scratch.
• Support robotic system development through offline programming, ensuring accurate and efficient code prior to deployment.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate robotic systems against project and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and optimize robotic systems during commissioning and startup to ensure stable, high‑quality operation.
• Work closely with controls engineers and integration teams to ensure seamless functionality between robots, controls, and other automation equipment.
• Support equipment installation and field startup activities as needed, including extended hours during installation phases.
• Assist with debugging and process improvements to meet customer specifications and enhance overall system performance.
• Apply strong problem‑solving skills to identify root causes of issues and implement effective corrective actions in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience programming industrial robots in manufacturing environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Fanuc robots, including programming Fanuc robots from scratch.
• Ability to develop robot programs from concept through commissioning and startup.
• Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and startup activities for automated systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills related to robotic systems and automated manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with or for a systems integrator in an automation or industrial environment.
• Ability to work on‑site in Spartanburg, SC and support project needs across the full lifecycle.

• Experience with offline robot programming tools and workflows.
• Background in robotic programming and robotic system integration within manufacturing settings.
• Comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including controls engineers and field integration personnel.
• Interest in ongoing contract work with opportunities for future assignments based on performance.

This role is based fully on‑site at an automation facility in Spartanburg, SC. The Robotics Engineer will work in a hands‑on industrial environment focused on robotic and controls integration for manufacturing applications, using Fanuc robots and related automation technologies. Typical weekly hours range from approximately 45–55 hours during offline programming, FAT, and SAT phases, and can increase to 60+ hours during equipment installation and field startup activities. The environment is project‑driven and fast‑paced, with a strong focus on collaboration, system reliability, and meeting customer specifications. The facility operates as a systems integrator, providing exposure to critical automation projects across multiple customers and offering the potential for ongoing contract work beyond the initial assignment period.

This is a Contract position based out of Spartanburg, SC.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
