Job description

It is the primary responsibility of the Retail Sales Associate, under the direction of Store Management, to deliver a welcoming, service-focused shopping experience that reflects Circus Circus service standards for every guest interaction. This role supports daily retail operations by providing knowledgeable product recommendations, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and utilizing Selling Skills techniques to meet individual and store performance goals.

The Retail Sales Associate serves as a professional point of contact for guests by creating a friendly and engaging environment, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring a comfortable and efficient shopping experience from initial greeting through completion of sale. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as departmental and Company policies, practices, and procedures.

Regular, predictable attendance is required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests in a timely, friendly, and engaging manner to create a welcoming retail environment.

  • Promote and maintain the highest level of guest service by anticipating and assessing guest needs.

  • Utilize Selling Skills techniques to recommend merchandise and enhance the overall guest experience.

  • Provide accurate information regarding retail merchandise and property amenities as requested.

  • Consistently support store performance by actively up-selling across product categories to increase Units Per Transaction (UPT) and Average Dollar Sales (ADS).

  • Maintain working knowledge of merchandise to effectively recommend products that meet guest preferences and needs.

  • Reinforce guest selections, invite guests to return, and thank them for their visit.

  • Follow established cash handling procedures in accordance with department and property guidelines.

  • Maintain established visual merchandising and floor standards to ensure a clean and organized sales environment.

  • Assist with physical inventory preparation and cycle counts as needed.

  • Work in various retail outlets based on operational and staffing needs.

  • Resolve guest concerns within scope of authority and notify management and/or Security of unusual events, missing items, or alleged theft.

  • Report discrepancies or operational concerns to Store Management while safeguarding company assets.

  • Model and adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Previous cash handling experience in a customer service environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar retail setting.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
