Job description

Spotify's Asia Pacific region spans some of the world's most exciting and diverse markets—from the high-growth streaming frontiers of Southeast Asia to the deeply music-passionate audiences of Korea and Taiwan, and the sophisticated audio ecosystems of Australia and New Zealand. APAC is one of Spotify's fastest-growing regions and a critical part of our global markets expansion.

We're looking for a Head of Markets Strategy & Operations to join our APAC leadership team, based in Singapore and reporting directly to the General Manager.

This is a high-impact leadership role that serves as a strategic partner to the GM in a lean, highly collaborative regional organization.

What You'll Do
  • Lead APAC's long-range strategic planning process, developing 1-, 3-, and 5-year plans in partnership with the GM, Market Managing Directors, and global stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and peer.
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities across market expansion, partnerships, product investments, and monetization using data-driven analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Shape the region's monetization strategy, supporting subscription growth and emerging revenue opportunities while identifying the next generation of revenue drivers.
  • Identify and incubate new cross-market growth opportunities informed by market, creator, consumer, and competitive insights.
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the GM, providing structured thinking, rigorous analysis, and clear recommendations on the region's highest-priority decisions.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations, strategic narratives, and decision materials for senior leadership. Monitor competitive, regulatory, and industry developments across APAC and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Own the GM's strategic operating agenda, including planning calendars, executive forums, and leadership decision-making processes.
  • Partner with Market Managing Directors and Markets Strategy & Operations leaders to design and continuously improve planning rhythms, quarterly business reviews, annual planning, and operational cadences.
  • Build performance management frameworks, dashboards, KPIs, and planning mechanisms that enable faster, data-informed decisions.
  • Strengthen collaboration across Music, Podcast, Marketing, Subscription Growth, Business Development, Product, Analytics, and Finance teams.
  • Drive AI-powered operating transformation across APAC by identifying, piloting, and scaling high-impact AI use cases while building adoption playbooks across the Markets Strategy & Operations community.
  • Connect and align the Markets Strategy & Operations community across APAC, sharing best practices and strengthening strategic and operational excellence across markets.
  • Coach and mentor Markets Strategy & Operations leaders, helping develop capability and leadership depth across the region, fostering a culture of curiosity, psychological safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Represent APAC across global business, product, analytics, and finance forums to ensure regional perspectives are reflected in global priorities.
Who You Are
  • You have 12 or more of years of experience in strategy, business operations, or management consulting, ideally working across multiple APAC markets.
  • You have deep knowledge of APAC and meaningful experience across multiple regions, including Southeast Asia, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, alongside exposure to global markets.
  • You have successfully developed and executed multi-year strategies in complex, fast-moving, multi-country environments.
  • You bring experience from, or a strong passion for, media, technology, or consumer internet businesses.
  • You understand subscription businesses, advertising models, and commercial growth strategies, with experience evaluating and driving monetization opportunities.
  • You build sophisticated financial models and communicate complex ideas through compelling executive presentations and strategic narratives.
  • You simplify complexity, translating data and insights into clear recommendations that influence senior leaders and drive decisions.
  • You are an exceptional collaborator who builds strong partnerships across functions, cultures, and time zones.
  • You actively use AI tools to accelerate strategic work and are passionate about helping teams adopt AI to improve how they operate.
  • You are fluent in English. Proficiency in an additional APAC language is an advantage.
Where You'll Be
  • This role is based in Singapore.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
