Job description

The Amazon Health Services team is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Risk Manager, Pharmacy Business Compliance who will partner with Amazon's Product and Tech teams to enable the enhancement of an innovative, compliant by design prescription processing and billing system, as well as manage the corrective and preventative action program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of pharmacy operations while adhering to all relevant regulations and laws. As such, it demands an individual with exceptional leadership skills, technical proficiency, and strong understanding of compliance requirements. The ideal candidate must possess experience in designing pharmacy processing and billing systems that are compliant with industry-specific laws and regulations, as they will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of system development from conceptualization of a pharmacy rules repository containing federal, state and local pharmacy laws and regulations to implementation, including ongoing enhancements. This individual will think strategically in order to develop innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and maintain compliance standards. This role will require cross functional collaboration between Amazon Health Services ("AHS") Compliance functions, Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Product and Tech across storefront, partner services and pharmacy operations, Legal and outside 3P vendors. This individual may also support services in other AHS business lines. This person should also be able to partner well with other stakeholders and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate must be able to think big and be creative to deliver results. As part of this team, the expectation is to consistently raise the high compliance bar and operational excellence as we rapidly grow, scale, innovate and ultimately make Amazon Pharmacy the most customer-centric pharmacy on Earth.
Key job responsibilities
Become an expert on the product and tech landscape within the pharmacy org. Collaborate with all compliance functions, Legal, 3P vendors and stakeholders to understand federal, state and local laws and regulations. Translate laws and regulations to actionable User-Stories for operational leaders, product and tech teams to create manual containment strategies and programmatic scalable solutions. Partner with Amazon Pharmacy's Product and Tech teams to align compliance needs and provide guidance on prioritization, entitlements and risks. Advise the business on existing risks, as well as projected future products and offerings by the business.
This role requires a full-time in-office presence in Seattle, WA.
A day in the life
Communicate with product and tech teams to scope out project requirements, provide inputs, risk rank identified deficiencies, and monitor implementation. Synthesize federal and state regulations along with pending legislation to proactively assess potential compliance gaps and present findings to pharmacy stakeholders. Participate in compliance meetings to advise on how we can build compliant, scalable, automated solutions that deliver a personalized shopping experience for customers.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
