Job description

Shift: Weekends and Holidays required. Days off during the week.
Seasonal End Date: September 9, 2026
Shifts range from 9:45am-10:15pm weekends and holidays are a must!
This position will be responsible for providing a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all guests by consistently monitoring pool and deck activity and enforcing safety rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
  • Prevent injuries and eliminate hazards, recognize and respond effectively in emergencies, and operate all applicable equipment in a safe manner according to established policies and procedures.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the decks and pools, and providing information beneficial to guest satisfaction by upselling resort facilities and services.
  • Responsible for opening and closing duties, safety checks, and performing first aid care as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the Guest Engagement Manager and co-workers to help maintain a cohesive workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma/GED or currently enrolled in or attending school.
  • Certification in shallow water safety skills, first aid, and CPR is required (HICV will provide training).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR (ARC or AHA), and First Aid (ARC or SEMT) preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to write and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Show competency in water by completing a simple pre-hiring swim test to include entering the water.
  • Safely, swimming at least 10 yards, diving and retrieving a ten-pound brick in at least five feet of water.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all guests and other staff.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Demonstrates a sincere dedication to providing an unsurpassed level of owner and guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a professional appearance and a pleasant personality.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
