Hocking Hills Lodge and Conference Center located inside Hocking Hills State Park is seeking candidates for Cafe Attendant/Barista positions for Cafe 22.

Position Summary

The Café Attendant/Barista is responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience while preparing and serving specialty coffee beverages, fresh grab-and-go foods, pizzas, paninis, ice cream, and retail items at Cafe 22. This team member ensures high-quality food and beverage presentation, maintains cleanliness and food safety standards, and provides efficient, friendly service to lodge guests and park visitors.

As one of the first guest interactions of the day, the Café Attendant serves as an ambassador for Hocking Hills Lodge and helps create memorable experiences through genuine hospitality.


Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
  • Greet every guest warmly and provide prompt, friendly service.
  • Accurately take and process food and beverage orders.
  • Answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and lodge amenities.
  • Make recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
  • Resolve minor guest concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Coffee & Beverage Service
  • Prepare espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, teas, smoothies, and specialty drinks.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
  • Ensure beverage quality and consistency according to Cafe 22 recipes.
  • Monitor coffee and beverage inventory throughout the shift.
Food Preparation
  • Prepare and serve:
    • Grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items
    • Fresh sandwiches and paninis
    • TurboChef pizzas and flatbreads
    • Ice cream and specialty desserts
    • Packaged snacks and retail food items
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion controls.
  • Restock display cases and merchandise throughout the day.
Cash Handling
  • Operate the POS system accurately.
  • Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
  • Balance cash drawer and complete shift transactions.
  • Promote retail and seasonal offerings.
Food Safety & Sanitation
  • Follow all local health department regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain ServSafe standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, counters, and guest areas.
  • Rotate products using FIFO inventory methods.
  • Monitor temperatures of refrigerated and heated foods.
Café Operations
