As a Hmong interpreter, your job is to help translate material between Hmong and another language. Hmong is an East Asian language, and most speakers live in China, Vietnam, Laos, and some surrounding areas. In this role, you may use your fluent command of both languages to help other people communicate with each other, interpret documents, or translate spoken or written content as needed. In the United States, most interpreters work with the Hmong Daw and Mong Njua dialects, which are often colloquially referred to as the White and Blue/Green dialects of the broader language.
