POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is seeking a proficient Hmong Simultaneous Interpreter to provide interpretation services for City Council meetings across the United States. This role will be crucial in ensuring that Hmong-speaking community members have access to and can engage in local governance effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide real-time simultaneous interpretation for Hmong speakers during City Council meetings, ensuring accuracy and clarity of communication.
  • Collaborate with City Council staff to prepare for meetings by understanding the agenda and context of discussions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards throughout all interpretation sessions.
  • Adapt interpretation techniques to suit the specific needs of the meeting's format and context.
  • Continuously enhance your interpretation skills and cultural knowledge to serve the community better.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in both Hmong and English, with exceptional oral communication skills in both languages.
