The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy and help shape a sustainable energy future through quality excellence. As a Senior Quality Control Engineer, you will ensure transformer products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.

In this role, you will lead quality initiatives across the Transformer product group, driving continuous improvement, supporting audits and quality systems, and partnering with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and field teams. Your expertise in transformer products and field applications will help enhance product quality, improve operational performance, and strengthen customer satisfaction.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and product specifications for transformer manufacturing operations.

  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product performance.

  • Lead and support internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with engineering, production, supply chain, and field teams to embed quality requirements into products and processes.

  • Oversee inspection and testing activities, including first article inspections, in-process checks, and final product verification.

  • Manage non-conformance processes, material review activities, and product disposition decisions.

  • Coach and mentor team members on quality tools, best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and root cause analysis initiatives to improve manufacturing performance, field reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related technical discipline).

  • 5+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Experience supporting transformer manufacturing operations and knowledge of transformer products, processes, and quality requirements preferred.

  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001, and quality methodologies including FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem solving.

  • Field experience or practical knowledge related to transformer installation, service, testing, or customer support is highly desirable.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt certification is a plus.
