Organizational Summary
The Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center is a patient- and family-centered nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive and integrated wellness approach to multiple sclerosis (MS) and related diseases, life-changing support services, top-notch education programming, and cutting-edge research.
Our organizational culture is rooted in collaboration, support, and shared purpose. We believe that teamwork is essential to achieving our mission, and we foster an environment where staff members actively engage with one another, leveraging their diverse skills and expertise to deliver impactful programs and services.
Conectar is a broader organizational initiative to to expand culturally responsive care, strengthen community partnerships, and improve access to support for Latino and Hispanic individuals and families affected by MS. Central to Conectar is a free, bilingual (English/Spanish) six-month pilot program running July–December 2026. It was developed in direct response to community need — listening sessions with Latino individuals and families impacted by MS surfaced key barriers: language access, isolation, a lack of culturally relevant resources, emotional health challenges, difficulty navigating healthcare systems, and a desire for stronger family and community connection. These conversations also led to the creation of a community leadership council, which helped guide the pilot's development and ensure it remained grounded in lived experience and community priorities.
As the program has evolved, collaborations have been established and strengthened with organizations including WellPower, Denver Health, and community providers to strengthen mental health support, education, and referral pathways for participants. The program also integrates bilingual educational materials, interpretation access, and community-centered facilitation practices to help create a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Participants in Conectar will have access to:
- Monthly virtual/asynchronous bilingual educational videos about MS and wellness
- Monthly In-person community support circles in partnership with WellPower
- Up to 3 individual counseling sessions with a bilingual provider for participants who opt in
- Resource navigation support (food, housing, transportation, mental health services, etc.)
- Virtual bilingual neurologist Q&A sessions
