Job description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for and committed to creating an unparalleled guest, member, and resident experience within a luxury hospitality environment. Oversees the activities of key guest and member contact departments, including but not limited to the hotel’s F&B operations comprised of Terrace 16, Kitchen, Banquet Operations, Rebar, Room Service, and Bars. Maximizes profitability as well as guest and associate satisfaction. Implements and oversees the daily quality processes at the hotel and the development and execution of strategic initiatives. Acts as the Director of Food & Beverage in the absence of him/her. Consults with the General Manager where required.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct the activities of key guest contact departments, including Terrace 16, Kitchen, Banquet Operations, Restaurants, Room Service and Bars by giving guidance, leadership and instruction to department heads.
  • Manages the day-to-day operation of Terrace 16.
  • Reviews forecasts and balanced scorecard. Directs Hotel actions required to maximize profitability, increasing service levels, and improving associate satisfaction in the aforementioned departments.
  • Assists in the execution of all property Capex projects.
  • Ensures Hotel implementation and compliance with the daily quality process of Trump Hotels procedures as well as Service Standards.
  • Leads planning committee/department heads to ensure overall profit, service, and associate satisfaction & engagement goals are met or exceeded.
  • Speaks with and responds to guests regarding service challenges.
  • Ensures Associate Satisfaction
  • Hires, supervises, coaches, disciplines and conducts performance evaluations for department heads and key personnel. Furthermore, partner with Director of Human Resources to develop the skills and abilities of direct reports and monitor high potential department heads, associate activity and ensures their growth within the company.
  • Conducts weekly F&B and general property inspections.
  • Assists in conducting all front-of-house Food and Beverage interviews and follow hiring procedures according to SOP's. Actively support Human Resources with recruiting efforts. Ensure that all managers are in compliance with the standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures.
  • Communicates with Guests, handles Guest Complaints and is present on the floor during all high activity periods

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.


  • Attend mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, executive meetings, staff meetings, etc. Lobby Ambassador Programs.
  • Ensure guest reservation policies, standards and procedures are met.
  • Attends industry meetings and participates in external industry organizations.
  • Participates in and maintains active community relations.
  • Participates in corporate activities and meetings, as requested.

Qualification Standards:

Education

Four-year college degree preferred

Experience

4 years’ experience in food and beverage, 2 of which should be from a Department Head level. At least 1 year progressive experience in a four-star/four-diamond or five-star rated hotel Requires substantial and successful knowledge of quality processes and Food & Beverage operations.

Licenses and Certificates:

Food Service Sanitation Required. Alcohol Service permit (if state required).

Grooming Standards:

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and adhere to Hotels Grooming Standards.
