Description
Pickleball Instructor will focus on developing and enhancing our pickleball teaching and coaching program to improve participants' pickleball skills and abilities. The position includes developing a schedule for instruction, building curriculum, instructing lessons, classes, and clinics. Provide leadership to the pickleball program and ensure a safe environment with pristine courts, facilities, and equipment maintained for the highest delivery of the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Ensure we instill and maintain a high quality of teaching delivery by developing and enhancing course design to ensure a quality education for our members.
  2. Instruct pickleball lessons, clinics, and drill sessions on techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve participants' overall game. This includes both one-on-one lessons and group clinics for all levels.
  3. Participate in the offering and running of Intro to Pickleball sessions regularly.
  4. Lead by example at all times. Interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability.
  5. Manage all equipment and maintain a clean and risk-free environment.
  6. Maintains a professional atmosphere and presentation with proper and current signage.
  7. Lead with enthusiasm and positive motivation.
  8. Ensure compliance with all YMCAVBR policies and standard operating procedures.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS Graduate/GED, education college coursework preferred.
  • Familiar with the game of Pickleball including knowledge of the rules, scoring and the ability to teach and share the sport with others.
  • IPTPA Certified Teaching Professional or PRO Level PPR Certification.
  • Teaching experience, as well as experience working with children and adults, preferred.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required.
  • Preferred knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
