Job description

Title: Network Engineer

Location: BOC (1006 E. Bearss Ave Lutz, FL 33549)

Duration: 12 Months

Hours: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week

Note from the Manager:

The main function of these positions is patching/upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers /Switches). Vulnerability assessments.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement, and manage the organization s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT networks, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Cisco network technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operations through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

Lead and develop the Technology Network team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a high-performance culture.

Utilize data and metrics to guide decision-making, track KPIs, review SLAs, and continuously improve network performance and project outcomes.

Ensure network security and compliance by developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry regulations.

Manage the Technology Network budget and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions and successful contract negotiations.

Drive operational excellence by creating and optimizing processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency and service delivery.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

-8-10 years of experience planning/designing, implementing, and supporting new and existing network Devices

-Experience with Cisco routers, Switches and Wireless Access Points

-Experience patching/upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers /Switches)

-Router/switch configurations/break-fix

Required:

8 years of experience in network management, with a focus on Cisco technologies, WAN, and SDN.

Preferred:

Experience in managing Data Centers/Architecture and OT and experience in the utility industry or similar environments.

Supervisory Experience:

Required: 3 years supervisory experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required: GREAT COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Strong network management and operations skills.

Requires overall awareness of cloud and compute and storage environments, the industry, vendor management, operations management and ITIL.

Possesses business and technical acumen and the ability to influence customers, team members, and management.

Process-driven and continuous improvement focus.

Budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills.

Ability to work both independently, and in a team-oriented, collaboratively

Interpersonal, coaching and project management skills.

Responsibilities include:

-Main functions: patching/upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers/switches)

-Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points across Power Plants, Solar Fields, and Control Centers.

-Replace routers and switches at client sites

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless installation and configuration of server and storage infrastructure.

-Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve server, network, DDoS protection, and NetScaler load balancer issues.

-Provide project leadership and consult with peers on security-related matters.
