POSITION SCOPE
A Vertical Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction of vertical structures, such as buildings and other vertical projects. Key duties include directing vertical construction, coordinating MEP systems, ensuring quality control, and driving project durations from Management and Ownership teams. This role involves managing the on-site construction team, coordinating multiple subcontractors, and ensuring that the project adheres to construction codes and safety protocols.
PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Leads all on-site construction operations for projects over 10 stories
  • Managing trade partners, safety compliance, scheduling, from groundbreaking to close out
  • Works closely with Project Manager to assist with job scheduling and appropriate staffing needs
  • Planning and coordination of all labor, materials, & equipment required to complete a project
  • Monitor field productivity to ensure work is completed in a cost effective and professional manner
  • Professionally communicate with Project Manager and Subcontractors
  • Assist in the hiring, training and evaluation of new team members
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with all employees
  • Interact with jurisdictional Inspectors, Architects, Owners, and others
  • Comply with all OSHA and company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of high-rise experience in a large scale, complex, and vertical building.
  • Deep understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Systems and construction sequencing.
  • Fire rating requirements and code requirements for high-rise buildings.
  • Coordinating multiple trades during the build out.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale teams and work under high pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating between workers, engineers, Management , and Ownership.
  • Ability to resolve complex unexpected issues in real-time.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Autodesk applications, and blue beam is preferred.
