Job description

Full job description

Client is a full-service architectural firm dedicated to providing unique and innovative solutions to our clients' planning and design challenges. We work on exciting developer, corporate, and high-technology projects in Silicon Valley and we love what we do. If you thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect / Sr. Job Captain to take ownership of project delivery on mid-rise and high-rise office and multifamily residential buildings. This senior role requires deep expertise in shell building documentation, expert-level Revit skills, and the ability to lead consultant coordination from SD through construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead production and QC of full construction document sets for mid-rise and high-rise office and multifamily residential projects.

  • Serve as technical lead on shell building and core-and-shell projects, including envelope systems, structural interfaces, and building-code compliance.

  • Develop and maintain complex Revit models to firm BIM standards; establish project templates, families, and workflows.

  • Coordinate structural, MEP, civil, and facade consultants; integrate drawings into Revit models and resolve conflicts.

  • Lead construction administration, including site observations, RFI responses, submittal and shop drawing reviews, and clarification bulletins.

  • Mentor junior staff and job captains, providing technical direction and quality reviews.

  • Collaborate with project managers and principals on scheduling, fee management, and client communications.

  • Navigate California/Arizona municipal permitting and plan check processes, including Title-24, DSA, and local building departments.

  • Maintain organized project records, BIM execution plans, and documentation across all project phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in an architectural practice, with demonstrated leadership on project delivery.

  • Proven track record producing construction documents for mid-rise and high-rise office and multifamily residential buildings.

  • Significant experience with shell building and core-and-shell project typologies.

  • Expert-level Revit proficiency - the go-to resource for BIM problem-solving, family creation, and model management.

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and coordination tools (Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, or similar).

  • Thorough understanding of California/Arizona Building Code, ADA, Title-24, and zoning applicable to mid-rise and high-rise construction.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and clients.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US. We are not able to sponsor work visas.

Nice to Have

  • California/Arizona architectural licensure (preferred).

  • LEED AP or experience with sustainable design and green building certifications.

  • Familiarity with Silicon Valley developer and corporate campus project environments.

  • Experience with high-rise post-tensioned concrete or structural steel construction detailing.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salaries based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • Profit sharing and performance bonuses

  • Paid time off
