Job description

Bennett Thrasher is one of the fastest-growing independent CPA firms in the country, renowned for our expertise in serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. Our personal financial services/high net worth tax practice provides specialized tax solutions for ultra-high net worth individuals and families to help them navigate complex tax landscapes, build and preserve their wealth.
Position OverviewAs a tax associate on our personal financial services/high-net-worth team, you will work as part of a team and utilize resources to add value to clients and assist with all stages of the preparation process for tax compliance engagements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the preparation of individual tax returns for high-net-worth clientele and utilize feedback to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare income tax projections and estimate calculations for clients
  • Conduct research, analysis, development and summarization of financial information
  • Analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Maintain and organize client files in accordance with firm standards
  • Develop effective working relationships with clients and firm associates
  • Engages in professional communication with clients under supervision of Managers and Seniors
  • Communicate with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicable
  • Supports Interns in professional development
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on projects
  • Use critical thinking to investigate client financials and fix any discrepancies
  • Participate actively in training and developmental opportunities

Qualifications And Requirements
  • Bachelor's in accounting; Master's preferred (150 hour requirement threshold should be satisfied or a specific plan in place)
  • One busy season of tax experience, preferably with exposure to high-net-worth individual returns
  • Actively studying and preparing for the CPA certification if not already obtained
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills

The base salary range for this position in Denver, CO only is between $65,000 to $80,000. Bennett Thrasher is accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
