Senior Residential Architect – Design Lead
Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $160k+

Konik is partnering with a well-respected, locally based residential design-build firm seeking a Senior Residential Architect to lead high-end residential remodeling and renovation projects. This is a strategic, design-forward opportunity for an architect who wants greater influence, visibility, and long-term growth within a stable, collaborative design-build environment.

The firm is known for bespoke, high-quality remodeling of older homes throughout Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding communities. Their work blends design excellence, craftsmanship, construction expertise, and a thoughtful client experience. This role is ideal for an ambitious architect who is passionate about design, energized by client collaboration, and motivated to help elevate the firm's design reputation, project caliber, and long-term growth.

The Senior Residential Architect will lead design visioning for projects ranging from approximately $750,000 to $1.5M, serving as a trusted creative voice for clients while collaborating closely with internal design team, project managers, and craftspeople.

Senior Residential Architect Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for high-end residential remodels and renovations, translating client goals into functional, highly crafted, and aesthetically distinctive spaces.
  • Guide clients through design visioning, presentations, decision-making, and project development.
  • Shape project design quality while helping elevate the firm's creative identity and market reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal design, project management, technical, and construction teams to ensure design intent, constructability, and execution remain aligned.
  • Conduct site visits and design reviews to support construction, solve design challenges, and maintain project quality.
  • Support business growth through client relationships, referrals, design leadership, and a commitment to exceptional homeowner experiences.

Senior Residential Architect Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect required
  • 10+ years of residential architecture experience with a strong portfolio of high-end residential renovations, remodels, older homes, and custom residential work.
  • Proven ability to lead clients through design visioning, presentations, and complex project decisions with a passion for design excellence, construction realities, craftsmanship, and creating a positive, high-trust client experience
  • BIM proficiency required; ArchiCAD experience is preferred, Revit or similar platforms also considered.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, growth-minded approach with interest in long-term impact and potential future equity participation.
