Overview
Job Summary
The hide pattern trimmer is the process of trimming unusable areas of the hide to specific hide pattern. The hide pattern trimmer will use a knife to remove the faceplate, knee area, tail, and udder/ cod of the hide.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Trim faceplate keeping square cheek area
  • Open shanks and trim knee
  • Open tail and trim square
  • Trim teats and fat stringers
  • NOTE: this description is not intended to be all inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in a humid, hot, wet, slippery, or moving surface at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment.
  • Previous heavy machinery experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Previous agriculture production/ beef plant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Be attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work safely, wear PPE, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to attend work consistently.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and animal welfare or sanitary dress procedures.
  • Able to stand for lengthy periods of time.
  • Display strong work ethic.
