Job description

Summary This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Programs (N922) Branch; Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service to patrons as well as to perform a variety of duties in support of the MWR community recreation program; located at Hickam Arts & Crafts Center. Responsibilities The incumbent is involved in one or more recreational activities such as military or community center activities; outdoor recreation; craft and hobby shops; athletics, fitness and sports programs; music and theater and/or other similar MWR recreational services.

This position is assigned to the Arts & Crafts Center. Performs a full range of services such as: Assisting customers, taking special orders, providing layaway services, following up on delinquent payments, making refunds or adjustments, resolving routine complaints, and any other customer service-related duties or transactions. May operate cash register, receive payment, and make change.

Assist in the maintenance of pertinent records and logs relating to customer service transactions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position.

Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate must possess: Must be able to learn MWR policies, rules and regulations involving the work area, and have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must have knowledge of basic mathematics.

Six months experience in a related recreational activity is desired. Applicants with knowledge of arts and crafts related merchandise and have a valid driver's license are preferred. *** Must be available to work Tuesday - Saturday between the hours of 9:15 a.m.-6:15 p.m.

*** Education This position does not have a positive education requirement. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
