Job description

Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is seeking an experienced Stir-Fry Chef to join our kitchen team. This position will work alongside our lead stir-fry chef, with the primary focus on the stir-fry station. The right candidate may also assist other stations as needed, but the priority is strong, consistent stir-fry performance.


Language Requirement (Required & Non-Negotiable): Candidates must be able to speak both English and Chinese. This is essential for effective communication with the kitchen team and management.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality stir-fry dishes to order with speed, consistency, and proper technique

• Work closely with and support the lead stir-fry chef

• Assist other kitchen stations as needed during service

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stir-fry station

• Follow recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines

• Complete assigned prep and side work

• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team and management in English and Chinese


Requirements

Must speak English and Chinese fluently – this is required and non-negotiable

• Minimum 3+ years of professional stir-fry or wok cooking experience

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen

• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Willing to support the lead stir-fry chef and assist other stations when needed
