Job Description

Join a team that helps keep our hospital safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, staff, and the community. As a Building & Grounds Utility Worker, you will support essential maintenance and repair work that ensures a reliable and healing environment. Your hands-on contributions play a key role in keeping hospital operations running smoothly every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs on hospital equipment, fixtures, and facilities
  • Support skilled trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting) with basic repair and upkeep tasks
  • Perform routine groundskeeping duties including mowing, landscaping, and exterior maintenance
  • Operate equipment and vehicles to transport materials, supplies, and waste
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory while ensuring proper cleaning and upkeep
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies while working collaboratively with staff and departments


Required Qualifications: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experiences are credited based on a 40-hour work week.
Qualifications:

  • Education: No minimum required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years in building and grounds maintenance
  • Licensure: Valid State of Hawaii Driver’s License (Type 3) required (evidence of license and original copy of traffic abstract is required)

Pre-Employment Health Requirements
