HG Olsen Elementary School is seeking a Certified Paraprofessional to join our Port Aransas Marlin team for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants should hold a valid Texas Educational Aide certification or be willing to obtain. The ideal candidate will have experience in the classroom working with special populations.

H.G. Olsen Elementary school educates approximately 240 students in grades PK-5. Primary Purpose:Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher

Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificateHave met formal academic assessment, associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or completed paraprofessional training with an ESCValid Texas educational aide certificate Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematicsAbility to work well with childrenAbility to communicate effectively Experience:Some experience working with childrenMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional SupportProvide instruction to students under the direction of the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.Provide assistance to substitute teachers.Student ManagementHelp supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
