Job description


Mauser Packaging Solutions is a global leader in solutions and services across the packaging lifecycle, providing large and small metal, plastic, fiber and hybrid packaging worldwide to companies in industries from food, beverage, personal care and pharmaceuticals to chemicals, petrochemicals, agrochemicals and paints.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, participates in all aspects of sheet feed Lithography & Coating in the Material Center.
Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the safe operation of all printing & coating equipment on KBA print line
  • Participates in a variety of intermediate-level skill duties
  • Prepares and reviews work orders, material requisitions, reports and other written documentation for this operation.
  • Assist in the diagnosis of malfunctioning equipment
  • Assist in the advising of management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous/detrimental
  • Create color books from samples generated
  • Ensure schedules request new samples when needed
  • Make plates for PC1/PC2/PC6 & sister plants as required
  • Assist with HFI management & work off
  • Manage MeasureColor database with INX tech, use X-Rite equipment & IGT
  • Create new job folders & update EO#'s
  • Learn scheduling from planner & filling in for vacation
  • Manage job folders (put away) & ensure they have necessary information
  • Stage new jobs to ensure pressman have what they need on 1st time runs
  • Follows all safety guidelines and ensures the Company's safety program is carried out
  • Documents all production, downtime & quality checks in SAP/Infinity/Shoplogix
  • Reports on anomalies to management
  • Journeyman Coater operator on (KBA , Wagner, Inghor etc.)
  • Ability to run coater & assist in running KBA print line (cross train on HOE print lines)
  • Maintain all duties related to the safe running of the printing & coating lines
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate quality with minimal HFI
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate production levels
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate changeover times
  • Train stacker & floater to fill in in the event of absence, vacation & breaks
  • Perform & document all required QC checks.
  • Assist in maintaining proper condition of line (housekeeping & 5S)
  • Work with stackers and truck drivers to ensure all materials are available & stage for next job
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Read and interpret layout drawings, ink formula cards, TDS/SDS for coatings, properly use shop mathematics, ink/color correction & associated software
  • Demonstrate safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the trade; application of lockout/tag out procedures
  • Proven understanding of mechanical drives / gears / gearboxes / conveyors and general mechanical application in manufacturing systems,
  • Performs related duties as assigned

  • Must work well in team environment
  • Ability to work overtime, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; and walk or sit. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell.
