Job description

Purpose:
This role is responsible for leading employee and customer training efforts throughout the whole organization. Training curriculum and execution is critical to the growth of the employees of Heritage Tractor. Equally important is how we educate customers about to maximize the equipment investments they are making.
Responsibilities:
  1. Work with managers to prioritize, coordinate, schedule and enroll employees in training classes based on organizational training paths and needs
  2. Develop and execute role-based training paths and assist with training recognition
  3. Complete criteria to become a John Deere Certified Dealer Instructor (CDI) along with identification of other internal CDI candidates
  4. Coordinate logistics (setup and tear down) for courses delivered by the training group including items such as instructors, equipment, training space, materials, meals, lodging, etc.
  5. Organization of customer training events, resource development and execution
  6. Partner with subject matter experts on outside training needs or expertise needed to achieve well rounded training programs
  7. Ensure that safety processes are followed, and safety training courses are provided
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment and technology
  9. Work, as needed, with ROM's, Service Management, and Technical Communicators in technician onboarding initiatives
  10. Other duties as assigned

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge and ability to operate Deere and competitive equipment and technology preferred
  • Experience delivering training courses preferred
  • Expertise (4+ yr experience) in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in lawn and heavy equipment
  • Experience using Service ADVISOR or like diagnostic repair tools suggested
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal expression and comprehension
  • Proficient with standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Follow all safety processes and regulation in performing responsibilities
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL (commercial driver's license) recommended
  • Forklift Certification preferred
  • Requires some overnight trips to other training facilities
  • Works both inside and outside conditions, experiencing all temperatures. Also, some duties are performed in a standard office environment
  • Physical requirements include lifting (75lbs), bending, squatting, climbing repeatedly
