Job description

Job Summary:

The SMT Programming Technician is responsible for the accurate and efficient creation of machine programs for Fuji SMT pick and place equipment. The primary focus is utilizing the Fuji Nexim software suite to translate CAD and BOM data into optimized production recipes, ensuring high placement accuracy. This position also requires troubleshooting of Surface Mount pick and place equipment as needed - machine alarms, part placement errors, etc. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate pick and place programs for SMT Machines 
  • Create and/or modify component profiles for SMT equipment 
  • Work with Design Engineers to resolve CAD and BOM discrepancies 
  • Create and maintain SMT assembly job folders 
  • Maintain Stencil inventory 
  • Assist in maintaining SMT parts library 
  • Provide technical support to machine operators 
  • Perform other direct and indirect tasks as required 

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma/GED required 
  • 3+ years of experience programming, maintaining and troubleshooting Surface Mount pick and place equipment 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Able to read and understand Bill of Materials, Assembly drawings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills; both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Epicor or another ERP system is helpful 
  • Work and communicate well with Production Operators, Engineers, Designers and Management 
  • Good mechanical skills 

Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000
