Job description

Material Handler

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Ixonia, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to supply lines with necessary food supplies prior to packaging or final finished packaged food goods to be shipped
  • Perform daily truck/trailer inspections to ensure equipment is safe and in working condition
  • Monitor production lines and supplies packaging items as needed with use of forklift, after certification
  • Return unused packaging materials post-production to warehouse by performing physical inventory and scanning to the appropriate locations using RF guns
  • Label and store materials and supplies within the warehouse and trailers according to part number/description
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages; document as necessary

Material Handler Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally throughout shift (8-10 hours)
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time throughout shift (8-10 hours)
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and lift throughout shift (8-10 hours)
  • Ability to do basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Prior forklift experience required (sit-down and/or stand-up)
