Job Description:
The person hired for the position of CNC Machinist will work at our Lexington, KY plant site.
As a CNC Machinist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.
Job Summary:
Performs more advanced set ups and operation of all conventional CNC machines and machining centers to machine both Tungsten and wet machining.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs advanced CNC machining related to forming and shaping of dispenser cathode emitting surfaces and bodies while holding tolerances, such as, +0 -.002 and operating multiple machines.
  • Advanced CNC programming skills along with ability to operate a hand lathe.
  • Performs basic machine maintenance and trouble shooting.
  • Follow work instructions and method sheets.
  • Works under minimal supervision based on task proficiency.
  • Tasks are completed by utilizing grinders to shape and sharpen tools, making or selecting collets, surface finish comparison and analysis, referencing work instructions, method sheets and engineering prints to meet quality, productivity and efficiency of each operation sequence.
  • Tasks also require the use of small hand tools along with constant work under a microscope to assemble all part types.
  • Participate in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and regulations, wear PPE as required per procedures.

Required: (Basic Qualifications):
  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)
  • Must have CNC machining experience. (Hardinge talent 42 (Live tooling), Mori Seki, Hardinge Super precision & Okuma 3000 LB (Live tooling)
    • Must run 2 machines.
    • Materials to cut
      • Tungsten
      • Moly
      • Kovar
      • Stainless
      • Aluminum
    • Fluent in G & M Codes (Fanuc Controls)
    • CNC Lathes & Mill Lathes
    • Responsible for quality checks - AQL every 25ps
    • Perform set ups
    • Using tolerances of + or - .0002
  • Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in CNC Machinist.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use math to perform basic calculations, and use basic handheld measuring tools.
