Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and setting up presses, including making necessary adjustments and ensuring the safe functioning of the equipment. You will work with parts that are similar in nature but vary in size or detail, requiring precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and make required set-ups on presses.
  • Set dies, adjust stroke, and attach and adjust safety equipment on machinery.
  • Obtain first piece inspection release.
  • Check work during runs for dimensions, burrs, cracking, or buckling.
  • Visually inspect components for damage or defects before swaging.
  • Perform multiple setups and be familiar with different size dies.
  • Make adjustments during production to ensure smooth operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues without halting production.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift for material handling.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in die and machine operation.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • Experience with machine setup and punch press operation.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in production and tool and die.
  • Ability to perform multiple setups and adapt to various die sizes.

Work Environment

You will work in a hot, non-temperature-controlled environment, requiring normal work clothes, steel toe boots, and safety glasses. The position is on the second shift, from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays if necessary. Training will occur on the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm for 1-2 weeks. Our facility is equipped with a climate-controlled and updated office area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carpentersville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $15.75/hr.
